Ganesha, drawn face on, in fifty three natural gemstones. The face and trunk are laid in rhodolite garnet, a deep raspberry pink that shifts toward red as the light moves. The crown is blue topaz, and a single peridot sits at its centre. One large rhodolite pear forms the tilak. Every stone is placed by hand onto cream suede, then framed in solid wood and set on its own engraved stand. Nothing is glued to a printed outline. The artisan works stone by stone, judging each against the last, which is why no two pieces are ever quite identical. Ganesha is the remover of obstacles and the one invoked before anything begins. This makes the piece a natural choice for a Ganesh Chaturthi, Griha Pravesh, a new office, a new mandir or the beginning of anything that matters. In the tradition Rhodolite garnet is used in Vedic practice as a stone of Rahu, associated with drive and worldly ambition. Blue topaz is linked to Guru, the teacher, and peridot to Budh, associated with intellect and clear speech. These are traditional associations rather than claims about what a stone will do.

The symbol
Ganesha is Vighnaharta, the one who clears the way. He is invoked at the start of a journey, a marriage, a business, or a life in a new home. Shown face on, he meets the room directly, which is why this form is most often placed at an entrance or on a puja shelf where it is seen on arrival. The single stone at the brow marks the tilak, and the crown above is drawn in blue as the sky.
How it is made
Fifty three stones, placed one at a time onto cream suede with tweezers. The trunk alone takes forty five graduated rhodolite pears, each turned so its point follows the curve. Four blue topaz ovals form the crown, with two amethyst marquise, one peridot round and a single large rhodolite pear completing the face. The frame is solid wood, cut and joined by hand, and the base is engraved before assembly. One artisan completes a piece from start to finish.
